@Frank and EK: I'm not too sure I have the discipline to go running long distances every few days especially living in clown college. After your comments, I'm going to think about t again.

@Sam: I'm sure the revelation of pole dancing classes went down well in the office ( at Matt). You can't beat a bit of old school techno. I bought at old Dave Pearce anthems compilation from 1999 on mp3sparks and played it on shuffle during the race. It's amazing how a good beat makes you unconciously pick up your pace.

omg. Well done phil. That's well impressive. I've completely given up on the jogging and have taken up 5 hours of solid stomping to techno most weekends. Need to start jogging as well though cause my lungs are getting a bit knackered by the smoking of lots of bifta's after the 5 hours of stompin!!
I'm starting pole dancing lessons next month!! That's supposed to really good exercise. Good for toning.

Frank, How in Gods name did you neglect to tell Phil of your habit of putting vaseline on your nipples?

Phil, Frank is right. The only reason you would need more time to train would be to achieve something closer to your highest potential. Remember Jade Goody did one? Fair enough she collapsed after 23 miles but I'm sure she would have finished it if she had done ANY training!

If you can do the 10 mile now, then you'd easily manage the main event.

For my training last year 18 miles was my longest training run. And that was 2 or 3 weeks before the Marathon

Fair play dude. Much easier to push yourself when you have a goal.

Nipple chafe isn't nice. Congratulations on the run - that's pretty good going. And now I feel bad for spending the entire weekend in my flat. :(

lol!
