@Frank Fastmail is good but I find the interface for Gmail awesome. That’s mainly what I’m paying for. When you pay you also get ads removed, more storage, support, migration tools.

You can add other pop accounts to your google mail. The mobile app for google mail is also very good and usable.

I don’t use a client for my philroche.net mail anymore. I use Google Chrome with the ‘Offline’ google labs projects installed so I can read and write mail even when I’m offline.

Sadly I don’t sync my phone calendar with my other calendars but I’m sure there are ways to do it with google calendar.

I wouldn’t hesitate recommending a move to google mail.

Currently I pay fastmail for a brilliant IMAP service that acts as the hub for about 10 mail accounts. Whats the deal with the non-free version of gmail? What do you get above the free version and how much does it cost? I presume they don’t read your mail and target advertise you etc. like I’ve heard they do with the free one.

Problems with my current set up are that IMAP doesn’t work nicely with Outlook so I use Thunderbird.

Thunderbird is great but it won’t sync with my phone calendar which is a pain when you’ve a head like a sieve.

What do you reckon….move to google mail, move to outlook, and sync with phone or wha?
